How to Bring Your Detox Diet to an End

Most information on planning your detox diet will talk about how to get started with a detox diet. Things like how to prepare and what to eat. But the way that you end your diet is just as important. You could undo all the good that you have done if you don't come off your detox diet correctly.

The worse thing that you can do is finish your diet and then go on a binge of all the foods that you have avoided. What you should be doing is slowly reintroducing the foods that you were not eating. Your stomach may have contracted during your detox because you were not eating as much, so take smaller portions of easily digested food.

The day after your detox you could start the day with fresh fruit and live yogurt. Your lunch could consist of a fresh salad with cheese. For your evening meal opt for a vegetable soup finished off with some fresh fruit. Try to avoid any 'heavy food' such as deep-fried food.

In the following days you can further reintroduce other elements to your diet such as chicken, pasta and red meat. In the longer term, think about trying to incorporate some of the elements of the detox into your normal routine. This could include things as simple as increasing the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables you eat, cutting down on cookies or reducing the amount of coffee you drink.

Many people find that they have a changed relationship with food after they have been on a detox diet. They prefer to eat the healthier options when they go out to a restaurant and they no longer crave the junk food that they used to eat. It could be the start of a whole new lifestyle that is healthier and more enjoyable.
