Delicious Detoxification Recipes

Some people think that just because you're on a detox diet, you will be eating food that is not very appetizing. Nothing could be further from the truth! Here are some delicious detoxification recipes that you will enjoy eating. You're also likely to find that the rest of the family will want to join you.

Soups are an ideal meal for your detox. They are easy to make, provide nourishment and comfort, and they can be easily made in the morning and transported in a flask to work. Here are some of my favorite recipes:

Hearty Vegetable Soup

1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
Teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
2 medium carrots
2 sticks of celery
3 large tomatoes, chopped
1 tablespoon tomato purée
1 teaspoon vegetable bouillon powder
1 pint of boiling water

Fry the garlic and onions in the olive oil until softened. Chop the carrots, celery and tomatoes and add them to the pan. Mix the tomato purée and bouillon powder with the boiling water and stir before adding to the pan. Season to taste with pepper.

Spicy Lentil Soup

One medium onion
Half teaspoon ground cumin
Half teaspoon coriander powder
2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil
2 celery sticks
Hundred grams recommend tools
1 teaspoon vegetable bouillon powder
1 pint of boiling water

Heat the oil in a medium saucepan and add the onions. Cook until they are softened. Add the cumin and coriander powder. Continue to cook for another minute. Chop the celery stick and add to the mixture. Dip in the lentils, stir and then add the vegetable bouillon powder and boiling water. Return to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before putting the soup into your blender. Whiz it in the blender until the consistency is correct. Return to the heat before serving. You can add additional water if you prefer a more liquid consistency.

Detox Salads

I also like to have plenty of fresh salads when I am doing a detox. They're delicious and they also help to make me feel good about myself. As many fresh juicy salads have a high water content, they help to combat dehydration and can help the detox process of elimination of water-soluble toxins. The vitamins and minerals they contain can also have an antioxidant effect. This helps to combat the damaging effects of free radicals and can help build up your immune system. Here are my favorite recipes.

Beetroot and Spinach salad

For the salad:
3 to 4 small cooked beetroots, thickly sliced
100 grams baby spinach leaves
2 carrots, finely sliced
One handful of bean shoots

For the dressing:
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon runny honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Mix together the ingredients for the salads in a large mixing bowl. Shake the ingredients for the dressing and add black pepper to taste. Drizzle the dressing over the salads and toss to ensure that all of the vegetables are covered. This salad can be eaten by itself or as a side dish.

Pomegranate and Rocket Salad

One ripe pomegranate
100 grams of rocket
Bunch of spring onions
Third of a cucumber
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Pepper to taste

Half the pomegranate and remove the seeds. Put the seeds and juice to one side. Put the rocket in a bowl. Chop the spring onions and cucumber and add them to the bowl. Mix the virgin olive oil, cider vinegar and pepper together and toss with the salad ingredients. Then pour the pomegranate seeds and juice over the top.
