Detox Smoothie Recipes

You can make your own detox smoothies from fresh fruit in your own home. All you need is access to a supply of fresh fruit and a blender. Most people have one of these in their kitchen, but if you haven't you will be glad to know that they can be easily be found at electrical retailers and they are inexpensive.

Some people ask what's the difference between making a juice and a smoothie. A juice is made by separating the juice from the fiber of the fruit, using a special juicing machine. A smoothie is created by blitzing the whole fruit in a blender, creating a puree.

Banana and Berry Smoothie

1 banana
6 strawberries
2 apples

Slice the bananas and put in the blender with the strawberries. Juice the apples and add to the other ingredients. Blend them until you reach the required consistency. You can vary the amount of apple juice if you find it too thick or too thin. Serve over ice.

Pomegranate and Banana

1 pomegranate
1 banana
1 orange

Remove the seeds and flesh from the pomegranate. Slice the banana and blend with the pomegranate seeds in the blender. Juice the orange and add to the blender as required until you have the consistency that you like. Don't worry about the seeds from the pomegranate; they are perfectly OK to drink.

Watermelon Express

1 watermelon

This is probably the fastest and easiest smoothie that you are likely to make. There's only one ingredient - watermelon! Slice open the melon and remove the seeds. Cut it into chunks and blend in your blender.

Exotic Delight

2 slices of fresh pineapple
1 passion fruit
1 mango
3 oranges

Cut the pineapple and remove the core. Remove the inner flesh of the passion fruit. Peel the mango and oranges. You can leave the pith on the oranges. Add all of the ingredients to the blender and blitz them. This provides a refreshing drink that is very popular.
