Detox Hydrotherapy Baths

Detox hydrotherapy baths are a popular way of improving health and eliminating toxins from the body. Most health spas have one or more different types of hydrotherapy treatment available. And they are not just a recent phenomenon or fad. The history of hydrotherapy treatments goes back thousands of years and they were popular with the Romans and Ancient Egyptians. Here are some of the different types.

Peat and Mud Baths

Peat baths have been a popular way to lower blood pressure and remove toxins from the body. The product can either be applied to the skin as a paste or you use it in a liquid form as a bath additive. The most popular brand name product is Moor. This can be readily found in shops and on the Net, so you can use the product at home.

Aromatherapy Baths

Essential oils can be added to the bath to give a wonderful and luxurious fragrance. But what many people do not realize is that these oils can also have a therapeutic effect. Eucalyptus oil is useful for people suffering from coughs and colds and lavender oil is relaxing and good for helping people with a headaches.

Sitz Baths

This is a popular type of spa treatment found in continental Europe. It involves sitting in a warm bath with feet in cold water. You then reverse the positions so you sit in the cold water with your feet in warm water.

This process encourages the circulation, which helps with the elimination of toxins. The traditional way of taking a sauna in Finland follows a similar pattern. You sit in a very hot steam sauna and then cool down under a cold shower. Traditionally users would have jumped in an ice cold lake. Then they would return to the sauna.

Epsom Salts Baths

Epsom salts have been a bath additive that has been used for many years in England. It encourages the elimination of toxins and can help sooth aching muscles. The product is readily available from many pharmacies.
