2-Day Detox
The 2-day detox diet is one of the most popular plans to go on. It can easily be fitted into a weekend so you don't need to drastically alter your existing plans. Here is an outline of some of the things that you could do. You shouldn't feel that you have to stick to this rigidly; it is just a guide for you.
Day 1
8am - Yoga or Pilate's exercise routine. This will provide a gentle work out and improve breathing.
9am - Breakfast - consisting of fresh fruit
10am - Rest and meditation
11am - Home facial - treat yourself to a little pampering. You will need to use a cleanser, exfoliant, toner and finally a moisturizer. This will leave your face feeling fresh and vibrant
1pm - Lunch - consisting of a fresh salad of raw vegetables topped with pumpkin seeds in an olive oil and lemon juice dressing
2pm - take some time out to rest and read a book or magazine.
3pm - take a brisk walk out in the fresh air. Try to find an open area that is away from congestion such as a park.
5pm - Foot massage - the feet are often a forgotten part of the body. Having a foot massage can help improve the circulation and aid relaxation.
7pm - Evening meal - consisting of vegetables cooked lightly by either stir frying or steaming.
9pm - Hydrotherapy treatment - have a luxury bath that contains of either essential oils or a health spa treatment such as 'Moor Mud'. Set the mood with tea light candles and soft music. This is an ideal way to wind down before bed.
Day 2
For the second day of your detox you can follow essentially the same routine, but substitute the facial for a manicure.
By the end of the 2-day detox you should be proud of what you have achieved. This is a healthy way to give you body a rest and take time out for yourself.
