Saturated fats, processed foods and too much alcohol can all put a strain on the normal organs that filter out impurities from the body.

Many people have found that following a full body detox diet has helped them to start feeling more healthy again because it has helped relieve this toxic load on the body.

Good Detox Foods

Start by introducing more fruit and vegetables into your diet. Fresh fruit is best but frozen and canned fruit in their own juice is also good. Remember that you can eat them as healthy smoothies as well as on their own. Blackcurrants, strawberries, raspberries, nectarines, oranges and bananas are all good as part of your detox.

Vegetables including cabbage, broccoli and spinach should also be included. Salad vegetables including tomatoes are also a useful addition. You can eat them raw, make them into soups or as a healthy salad.

Drink plenty of water during your detox. Aim to have about 8 glasses each day to help flush out any toxins in the system.

Foods to Avoid

The type of foods that you should be avoiding includes processed foods, foods that contain saturated fats and fried foods. Say goodbye to chips and fast foods for the duration of your detox. You should also avoid coffee, alcohol and carbonated drinks that are full of sugar.

After you have followed a full body detox plan you should be feeling better. You can then start slowly reintroducing some of the foods that you avoided previously. Most people follow a full body detox diet for a week or two. But it is also a good way to start thinking about the food that you eat and how you can make long-term healthy choices to the food that you eat.
